In addition to her website, Stephenie Freeman's column, Mama Wants More,  can be found inStephenie Bentley Freeman the styles section of every Sunday edition of The Lawton Constitution in Lawton, Oklahoma.  She has also been published  in the following publications: Baton Rouge Parents Magazine in Louisiana, Houston Family Magazine in Texas, North State Parent Magazine in Northern California, KidsVT Family Guide in Vermont, Baltimore's Child in Maryland, and ClubMom.com on the Internet.

Stephenie was also a blogger for Disney's new parenting website, Family.com, under the title, Hugs and Kisses: The sweeter side of motherhood, and has her own personal blog, "Tweet".

Her first book ,
Living with Cheese Eaters and Bald-Headed Monkeys, was released August 2007.

"Daily, my world revolves around juggling who I am and who I want to be.  In my previous life I was rested, debt-free, and thin.  Now I am tired, broke, and...well, not quite as thin as I used to be.  My writing career started years ago with a blank journal filled with stories about a stuffed dog named Fluffy. My earliest writing experiences included letters home from camp, notes to my best friend during world history, and a writing contest where I was awarded third place out of four contestants.

No longer satisfied with sending my writing via e-mail to friends and relatives, I decided that I wanted MORE and found a newspaper that took a chance and turned me into a real columnist.  So, I gave birth to my third child, "Mama Wants More."  Turns out, this new baby requires just as much attention as my other two children, but thankfully whines a lot less.

Now I am actually getting paid for something that I love to do.  My writing keeps my mind occupied with the possibility that my life has something new to offer each and every week. I hope to inspire other family management specialists (i.e., mothers, wives, grandmothers) who find themselves longing to be interesting people once again while at the same time, give them lots to laugh about.

Why would I need more? My blessing are many; overall my complaints are few.  I write because telling stories at bedtime just doesn't do it for me anymore. I don't want anything new. I just I want more of what I already have."

Mama's Inspiration

Cheese Eater bald headed monkey

"If you are a mother and a writer, chances are you are going to write about being a mama. There are just too many good, cute, and frightening stories to tell.  Humor is my coping mechanism that gets me through the day, and I might as well share it with you.

The Cheese Eater, my first born, is the topic of many stories because 1) he has been around the longest, and 2) he tends to get into more trouble than his little brother.

His little brother, The Bald-Headed Monkey, is exactly what his name implies: cute, curious, and after almost two years of life had little to no hair. Most of the time while I write, The Monkey begs to sit on my lap reaching for the keys. I blame all of my typos on him.

My sweet husband, The Golfer, puts up with all of us. I don't write a lot about him, because he is a wonderful father and an extremely supportive husband. He helps pick up toys without being asked and is charge of bath time every night. He can fix anything in the house, but for some reason has no idea where anything is in the kitchen.  I have absolutely no idea how I got so lucky, but of course neither does he."
